Dear Neptune Rocket Families,

As we begin the second quarter of the school year, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff. We have been working diligently to strengthen instruction, build positive relationships, and create a learning environment where every student can thrive. Our theme this year is Ohana, and we truly believe that we are stronger together!

I am excited to share that we are already seeing positive results! Our attendance and discipline data have improved tremendously compared to this same time last school year, and we are beginning to see encouraging growth in our academic data as well. Our teachers and students have been working hard, setting goals, monitoring progress, and focusing on continuous improvement. We cannot wait to see how that hard work translates into student growth during our upcoming PM2 assessments!

As we continue working toward our academic goals, we need your partnership in ensuring that your child is at school, on time, and ready to learn every day. Every instructional minute matters! Consistent attendance allows students to participate in valuable learning experiences, receive targeted support, and build the skills necessary for academic success. Together, we can help our Rockets reach new heights!

Strengthening Our Home-School Partnership

Over the next few weeks, you should hear from your child’s teacher, if you haven’t already, to schedule a parent-teacher conference and review our Title I School-Parent Compact. This compact outlines the shared responsibilities of our school, families, and students in supporting academic achievement. These conferences are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate successes, identify areas for growth, and strengthen our partnership.

We Need Your Voice and Involvement!

One of the greatest strengths of Neptune Elementary is our school community, and we encourage all families to become involved through our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Advisory Council (SAC).

• PTO Meetings: First Wednesday of each month. Our PTO helps strengthen school spirit, support school events, recognize our staff, and create meaningful experiences for our students.
• SAC Meetings: Third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. Our School Advisory Council brings together parents, staff, and community members to review school data, discuss school improvement goals, provide input on school initiatives, and help guide important school-based decisions. Parent participation is especially important because your perspectives help ensure that our decisions reflect the needs of our students and families.

Translation services are available, and your children are welcome to attend with you! We want every family to feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to have a voice in our school community.

Communication is essential to a strong home-school partnership. Please make it a priority to check Parent Square regularly for important announcements, classroom updates, and school information. We also encourage you to follow our Neptune Elementary Facebook page for weekly updates, celebrations, reminders, and a glimpse into the wonderful things happening throughout our school.

As your principal, I am proud of the progress we are making and even more excited about what lies ahead. We know there is still work to be done, but every day we are taking steps forward. Our commitment remains focused on high expectations, academic excellence, positive school culture, and ensuring that every Rocket has the opportunity to succeed.
